A Different Kind of Tournament Weekend

If you run a club in Chicagoland, you know the routine — mega-tournaments with hour-long gaps between games, gate fees on top of entry fees, and hotel blocks that cost more than the bracket. A WSS weekend is the opposite proposition: brackets sized so every game matters, certified officials, free parking, and a host city where dinner doesn’t need a reservation three weeks out.

The Drive

Up I-90, Not Through It

Madison is about two and a half hours up I-90 from the city; Rockford teams make it in ninety minutes, and northwest-suburb clubs beat half their usual crosstown commutes once Chicago traffic enters the math.
