The Development PathYouth Lacrosse by Age & Level

Why 3V3

Non-Contact Lacrosse

Small-sided lacrosse strips the game to its fun parts. With three players a side, every kid is constantly involved — scooping, cradling, passing, shooting — instead of standing on a big field waiting for the ball. Because it’s non-contact and requires no helmets or pads, the barrier to trying lacrosse basically disappears, while kids build hand-eye coordination, agility, and overall athleticism.

Ages 5–7

Stick Skills and Smiles

The youngest players learn to hold the stick properly, scoop ground balls, cradle on the move, and take their first shots. Drills are built for short attention spans — games, races, lots of repetition without it feeling like repetition. The goal at this age is simple: a child who loves lacrosse and can’t wait for next week.

Ages 8–10

Comfort With the Ball

Juniors develop real comfort with stick and ball — shooting with accuracy, controlling ground balls in traffic, running while cradling. We focus on progress, not perfection, in a high-energy environment that builds motor skills, spatial awareness, and teamwork one rep at a time.

Ages 11–14

Composure and Team Play

Older players polish technique and add the mental game: coordinated passing plays, off-ball movement, and reading the defense. Advanced drill options keep experienced players challenged, and fast-paced non-contact games teach the structure and flow of real lacrosse — so by season’s end, teams are working together strategically on both offense and defense.
