Two Very Different Trips

For Upper Peninsula programs this isn’t even a debate — Green Bay and the Fox Valley are hours closer than Detroit, and a WSS bracket in eastern Wisconsin is functionally your local tournament scene. Appleton-hosted events, including the 2027 baseball tournaments, are practically home turf. For Lower Michigan clubs, the trip is the drive around the lake through Chicago — or the option nobody forgets: the SS Badger car ferry from Ludington straight into Manitowoc, turning a tournament weekend into the trip kids talk about for years.

We’re a U.P. program — which events are closest?Watch for Fox Valley and northeastern Wisconsin dates on the events calendar; Appleton events are the shortest trip from most of the Peninsula.
Is the ferry actually practical for a team?In season, yes — Ludington to Manitowoc runs about four hours and carries vehicles, so a west Michigan club can sail Friday and make Saturday check-in without touching Chicago traffic.
Can Michigan players join camps and player development?Open registration — camps, clinics, and showcases take individual players regardless of state.
