Sports in Iowa

If Iowa built a monument to its sports culture, it already exists: the Field of Dreams in Dyersville. From legendary high school athletics and wrestling dynasties to the Iowa–Iowa State rivalry, Hawkeye State kids grow up competing — and eastern Iowa clubs from Dubuque, Cedar Rapids, and the Quad Cities are barely a border hop from fresh brackets.

Wisconsin Sports Services hosts them in the Madison area: youth basketball including the 2027 Girls State Tournament, the 2027 Boys State Tournament, and The State Circuit — plus baseball, softball, flag football, and lacrosse. Dubuque to Madison is about 90 minutes. Open events are on our Iowa service area page and the Events calendar.
